About The School

Medicine Hat High School has about 1,350 students in grades 9 through 12, and a staff of 70 teachers. Medicine Hat High School has a state-of-the-art science centre, new physical education facilities and modern fine art facilities as well as numerous computer labs.

Medicine Hat High School is known for excellence, innovation, and for offering one of the widest varieties of programs for students with different needs and talents. We are committed to providing a student-centered approach to education.


About The School Division

Medicine Hat Public School Division is a great place to learn English and gain an Alberta High School Diploma due to its small enrollment of international students and its individual attention given to every international student. 
Our Division serves the educational needs of over 7,000 elementary and secondary students in the city of Medicine Hat through 
16 schools and offers a comprehensive Outreach program providing a variety of alternative education options.

  • Medicine Hat is a city of 65,000, located in the western Canadian province of Alberta three hours southeast of Calgary by car or 50 minutes by air. It is home of the "Saamis Tepee", the world's largest tepee; as well as the Medalta Historic Clay District, an innovative industrial museum, contemporary ceramic arts facility, art gallery and community hub.
  • Winters are warmed by southwest winds known as Chinooks. Medicine Hat has the most hours of sunlight of any city in Canada.

  • Medicine Hat College offers one and two-year diploma programs and some four-year bachelor degree programs. Admission to Medicine Hat College is readily accepted from MHHS graduates meeting entrance requirements with career guidance provided for those wishing to continue their studies at Medicine Hat College.
  • Alberta also has six universities and numerous colleges/technical schools to meet various career goals.
