Medicine Hat is a city of 65,000 people located in the western Canadian province of Alberta. It is three hours from Calgary by car or 50 minutes by air.

Its winters are warmed by southwest winds known as Chinooks with an intermediate ski hill 40 minutes away and Banff National Park about 4 hours away. Medicine Hat has the most hours of sunlight of any city in Canada.

Numerous recreation/leisure facilities include 3 outdoor and three indoor swimming pools, 6 hockey/skating rinks, a YM/YWCA, many soccer and baseball fields and an indoor soccer facility, and 80 kilometres of bike and walking paths.

There is an excellent public bus transportation system for easy access throughout the city.

Alberta has wonderful recreation facilities such as world class skiing, affordable world class golf courses, and many other recreation opportunities.

Alberta also has six universities and numerous colleges and technical schools.

Medicine Hat College offers one and two year diploma programs and some 4 year bachelor degree programs.
