International Students - How to Apply

Step 1

Complete an application form for Medicine Hat Public Schools' International Student Program.


Step 2

Send the completed form together with:

A copy of your birth certificate or passport

An English transcript (certified true) of your marks for the past two years.

One letter of academic reference from your principal or teacher

Application Fee of $200.00 in Canadian Funds by wire transfer or certified cheque payable to Medicine Hat School District No. 76.


English Test Results (if applicable)

Step 3

Medicine Hat School District will be happy to arrange a homestay placement. If you are interested please visit the Homestay page for more information and to complete the necessary forms.


Step 4

Upon acceptance of your application , you will be notified to pay full tuition . When tuition has been received, we will provide you with an official Letter of Acceptance to Medicine Hat School District . Guardianship Documents for those wanting a homestay placement will also be issued.

You will need this Letter of Acceptance in order to apply for a Study Permit from Citizen and Immigration Canada . You may do this through the Canadian Embassy or High Commission in your country. For more information, contact:


Step 5

Once you have your Study Visa, arrange for a plane ticket to Medicine Hat. Send a copy of your travel itinerary to us and we will meet you at the airport.
